Why should boys have all the party and hungama? Well, the brides and her gals have a kickass answer with the trending in bachelorette parties -- the buzzword at new-age weddings. For the Instagram generation, what better way to show off your OOTD than a jhakaas bachelorette post? After all, bachelorette is the one and only occasion when the bride-to-be gets a break from the tiring rituals, endless shopping and the overflowing advices from all corners. It’s the only time she and her BFFs get to let their hair down.

Hey bride-to-be and her besties, it’s time to let your heavy outfits and jewellery rest for a while. Slip into easy and breezy silhouettes that let you sit back, chillax and have fun. Bring out your cool quotient with quirky prints, bold styles and fancy cuts. Check out our stylenama for a gala bachelorette.

Theme or Freestyle?

All depends on whether the party has a theme to it or is freestyle. It could well be a location that drives the theme such as a beach, poolside, lake view or garden. The partygoers’ look for the day will depend on the theme that catches the fancy of the bride and her event managers. Bride, her besties and/or the organisers should also plan well in advance if they wish to have dress codes: same design for friends and different one for the bride or same dress for all in different colours… But if there’s no theme, dress code or specification, just go for it your way!

“The most important aspect of a bachelorette party is the theme that it carries with it. We believe, choosing Indo-Western attire would be the best choice for a bachelorette party. A traditional cotton crop top with palazzos will give you a bohemian look at your friend’s bachelorette party,” advise Pankaj Anand and Anil Arora, Founders, Sabhyata. Sabhyata is one of India’s well-known brands of ethnic apparel.

Style Lowdown for the Bride-to-be

This is one event where you can virtually decide what you want to wear.

Stand out from rest - If you wanna carry your bridal grandeur to the bachelorette, go for gowns. Take a leaf out of Cannes (Read: Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone) and get your own style designed. A saree gown is also good to go.

“A bride’s outfit is always special and her look for the day adds charm to the occasion. To make a bachelorette party more special, the best look for the bride would be a gown with a touch of ethnic feel into it,” say Pankaj and Anil.

‘Dress’ up in sequins - Do you wish to look a bit dressy and yet not uncomplicated? Try a sequinned dress. If you think sequinned dresses are overdone, you could also try sequined pants!

Jumpsuits & Playsuits for Fun - If you have had enough of dressing up in the run up to wedding, then slip into jumpsuits or sizzle your way in playsuits and separates in a variety of variety of prints such as vintage florals, gradients (tie-n-dye effect), geometric, tribal and abstracts.

Style Lowdown for Bride’s BFF

Pick your Print - Floral, leopard and bright patterns in a combination of unique hues like pink, orange, parrot green and bright dark blue.

Crop tops or bra tops with high-waisted skirts or jeans look every bit sexy.

Sequins & shimmer – You can always make a glittery appearance with a sequined or shimmery outfit but don’t overdo because it’s the bride who’s got to shine the most!

Cold shoulders – If there’s one style that’s the flavour of seasons to come, it’s cold shoulders. And it perfectly suits the mood of bachelorette.

Fringes – Give a flirty vibe to your look with fringed skirts, scarfs or tops.

Halter neck crop tops or tunics and dresses. Throw in some metallic accessories, which are very much in trend.

Print Mantra

Try a strapless or noodle strapped or full sleeved dress with floral prints and carry along an embellished bag. Matching earrings and pumps will complete the outfit. Printed long shrugs are also trending in and will go well with the occasion. You can also check out a variety of combinations of styles.

Print with solid – This combination looks classy, elegant and is a perfect pick for those who want to play safe. You could pair a printed top with plain pants/separates/ripped jeans. Plain tops with printed bottoms are also great fun. With such combinations, you may also create a colour block effect.

With printed accessories – Accentuate the printed look by teaming a printed outfit with a complementing printed accessory such as handbag or satchel bag.

Two similar prints – Get into print overload mood by combining two similar prints but different colours for top and bottom or the outer layer.

Combine small and big prints – Create an element of contrast by pairing small prints with bold prints.

Customised messages – Add to the frenzy and fun by getting a top or tee printed with customised message for the bride or your besties.

Match the Fun

Bachelorette is all about showing your solidarity as BFFs. And a cool way of doing so is by matching some elements of your outfit or style with each other’s. Even if there’s no dress code, you gals can decide on some fun. From matching tiaras to blings, bride and her gals can “match up” to the camaraderie. Here is a list of matching accessories the girl friends can wear.

•  Tiaras

•  Blings

•  Belts

•  Friendship Bands

•  Bracelets

This is a party where feeling good is more important than anything else. So sip the cocktail of fun and enjoy the spirit of friendship!
