The Ultimate Playlist for Your Wedding Video

By Richa

You know how fond we are of a killer wedding playlist around here. Therefore, this time we bring to you songs for your pre-wedding and wedding videos. Read on and SING ALONG!

From the sangeet dance performances to the first dance, we spend a huge amount of time figuring out the right songs and then prepping our acts for weddings. It is true, they play (pun intended!) a major role to set the mood of your wedding settings. However, apart from the ceremonies, we forget that our pre-wedding and wedding video also feature songs and more importantly, they will stay with you eternally. But, still somehow, we leave this important decision of adding songs to our wedding videos on our photographers. Even the top cinematograpgers in Delhi sometimes make a mistake using a dull song in the video, which might make you cringe your nose.

Therefore, without any further ado, I bring to you few of the latest songs:

Few Popular Desi Songs:

Nazm Nazm (Bareilly Ki Barfi) –
The soulful song will definitely leave you spellbound and your wedding video a masterpiece. Or maybe, enact the song with your bae in the romantic vaadiyaan somewhere for your pre-wedding shoot.

Ik vaari aa (Raabta) -  If you and your partner is not one of those cheesy romantics, then this peppy yet dreamy song is just the right number for you. Make your lip sync video of this one with your partner and maybe your friends too.

Sammi Meri Waar (Umair Jaswal & Quratulain Balouch, Coke Studio) – This one is for the offbeat couples, who believe in the pure art of music.

Afeemi Afeemi (Meri Pyaari Bindu) – We are addicted (well, of course, the name of the song gives it away) to this song.

Saarattu Vandiyila (Kaatru Veliyidai) – This Tamil wedding anthem is a must add to your list. While we don't speak Tamil, we do speak love and this song is just that.

Aaya Laariye (Meesha Shafi & Naeem Abbas Rufi, Coke Studio) – A famous track by singer Musarrat Nazir gets a contemporary yet aesthetic twist.

Hawayein (Jab Harry Met Sejal) – SRK + Arijit Singh = Romantic Song. Do we need to say more? This is the perfect love equation that you will need to recreate your dreamy sequence.

High Rated Gabru (Guru Randhawa) – Romance in Punjabi, YES please! Even non-Punjabi couples would love to burn up the dance floor with the Punjabi songs.

The Humma Song (Ok Jaanu) – Is your bae and you are the perfect recipe of naughty and nice? Then this song has been written just for you.

Peh Gaya Khalara (Fukrey Returns) – Just like the movie, this song is super fun and relatable. Totally Indian wedding video material.

Other Recommendations: Din Shagnaa Da (Phillauri), Hairat (Anjaana Anjaani), Folk Song Covers by singer Neha Bhasin, Mashups by Vidya Vox, Shaam Shaandar (Shaandar and Gulaabo), Raabta (either version), Haareya (Meri Pyaari Bindu), Bol Do Na Zara (Azhar), Kabira (Encore – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani), Nachde Ne Saare (Baar Baar Dekho), Hiknaal (Dev D), Raat Ke Dhai Baje (Kaminey), Cutiepie ( Ae Dil Mushkil Hai) or get inspired from the performances of renowned group Bhangra Empire.

Few Popular Videshi Songs:

Firestone (Kygo) – Bliss for the ears, this song is for the passionate couples. Sparks will definitely fly with this tune.

Something Just Like This (The Chainsmokers & Coldplay)  – This one is for the pragmatic couple  who want to experience a deep and meaningful love, in the real world and does not  expect to live up to some heroic greatness. A true-life tune, I would like to call it.

You And Me (Niall Horan) – A soft and simple song that will soothe your soul and calm your mind. If you had the ‘kisi cheez ko agar dil se chaho, to poori kaynat use tum se milane me lag jati hai’ kind of love, you have to get your bae now and get reel with this one.

This Is What You Came For (Calvin Harris Featuring Rihanna) - It’s about euphoria. Add this as a surprise song in your wedding videos and let your partner know that you can’t keep your eyes off of them.

More Than You Know (Axwell /\ Ingrosso) – Peppy, dreamy, and sultry – the song is a perfect recipe of love.

You Look Good (Lady Antebellum) – I know, some of you may have cringed a little after reading this suggestion. It may not be the poster child of love song but it will be a fun love song to shake a leg to. However, if you wanna go all the cheesy way, their ‘Just A Kiss’ will be awesome for you.

Magic (Coldplay) – The song is called Magic for all the right reasons. It is seriously just that, just like love and your love story.

Shut Up and Dance (Walk The Moon) – Well, just shut up and dance to this one with your bae. Duh!

Perfect Duet (Ed Sheeran & Beyonce) – This song is a perfect waltz number. Or insert it in the video when you see your bride is walking down the aisle *somebody is gonna shed love tears*.

Best Friend (Sofi Tukker) – Yes, not a conventional lovey-dovey number but it’s for all the best friends turned lovers out there.

Other Recommendations: Sugar (Yes! Please Maroon 5 – actually all the songs by them – how can we forget Animals?), Love Me Like You Do (Ellie Goulding), Cheap Thrills (Sia), Wolves (Selena Gomez), Come To Me (Goo Goo Dolls), Lovers on the Sun (David Guetta feat. Sam Martin), Counting Stars (OneRepublic)

The video songs should depict your love tale, with unfolding the ceremonies as they took place and make it a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Include the above the mentioned tunes or create your own playlist, maybe from 20’s songs, in your pre-wedding and wedding videos and create your own Bollywood ishtyle movie. Stay Happy!
