The wedding season is up and about with all the dhol, baaja and baaraat and your best friend too decides to take the plunge. The bride is bound to be the cynosure of all eyes with someone especially taking care of every minute detail like the colour of her nail paint to the size of her bindi, to make her look resplendent and radiant on her big day. Being the bride’s best friend, it would be equally important for you to grab those eyeballs and look the second prettiest lady at the wedding. Well, you need not necessarily spend those extra bucks and hire a professional wedding makeup artist to make sure you look your best on the occasion. You can do your own makeup and still look flawless all day (and night) long.

Here are a few DIY tips to get that drop dead gorgeous looks on your BFF’s wedding:

Experiment with Your Looks: As you have decided to be your own makeup artist, you can now easily experiment with your looks at zero cost. Prior to your bestie’s wedding, conduct multiple trials at home with your beauty essentials along with your attire. Also, do not forget to click pictures under different kinds of lighting to understand which makeup will suit your face and skin tone, the best. In this way, you will be able to figure out whether to tone down your makeup or not.

Cleansing and Moisturising: Make sure you cleanse and moisturise your skin well before you apply any kind of makeup. A moisturiser will act as a base to the makeup applied and prevent your dry skin from absorbing the products or settle into your wrinkles and fine lines. After you are done with moisturising your skin, use a primer as it helps to blur all the imperfections and make your makeup last longer.

Use Products That Are Long Lasting: Long lasting and waterproof products are a must if you want the makeup to last the whole day. After all, it is you best friend’s wedding, which means you need to be present for all the functions from morning to evening. No matter, whether it is a mehendi, sagan or cocktail function, there will be a long day ahead of you. So, use products that can help in keeping your makeup remain intact through the sweat, dust, tears, and hugs.

Keep a Damp Sponge or Brush Handy: Apply the foundation with a damp sponge or brush, as this will give a sheer finish to your look. Avoid using hands to apply foundation as it can leave fingerprints and will not give you the desired finish. Choose the right foundation that matches your skin tone. A foundation will also help to hide your wrinkles and pores. Blend the foundation well onto your jaw lines, neck and chest. The blemishes or spots on your face can be hidden with the help of a concealer.

Enhance Your Eye and Brow Makeup: Your eye and brow makeup should be able to transform your entire look. Therefore, it is necessary to accentuate them with the use of right products to make your eyes and brows stand out. Fill in your brow with a brow pencil that is a shade or two lighter than your original brows. Use some shimmer in the inner corner of your eyes and opt for darker eye shadows on the outside of eyes. If you are used to nude shadows, then retain the same with some shimmer and lay off the darker shades if that's not what you are used to.

It is advisable to keep most of your makeup natural. A caked-up face takes away the charm and can ruin your entire look. Keep your makeup simple and natural as much as possible and stay beautiful. After all, who knows your features better than you?

Appearance becomes an inevitable part during the weddings and these tips will help you look the next perfect-girl after the bride.
