JodhaAkbar style Wedding for Ripandeep and Jaldeep

By Sanhati Banerjee

Plan Your Wedding brings to you the saga of Ripandeep and Jaldeep’s wedding, one that saw ballroom romance in the ring ceremony, a chic cocktail, a blissfully spread Anand Karaj ceremony and Jodha-Akbar touch to the wedding making it an eclectic work of fusion.

When you love, it’s love but when you marry, it’s a tie that binds. A wedding celebrates this tie that springs from love and makes that made-for-each-other feeling official. Now, the tie that binds got to be ‘the’ one and it takes a special someone to make it so! Well, Delhi-based engineer Ripandeep, who is currently working as bid and proposal manager at Ericsson, has certainly found her special someone in Jaldeep Singh Rekhi, manager at HDFC bank. The couple entered the wedded bliss on February 4 this year after four years of peachy courtship. Let’s take a dip into this sweet little story that talks of love and just, love. It all started when Ripandeep joined the Nokia workforce back in February 2010, only to find a soulmate in a colleague called Jaldeep Singh Rekhi. Regular office meetings soon transformed into elaborate discussions on work and world affairs and later into the midnight chatters.
For Ripandeep, the crimson evening of April 30, 2010 brought in the blush every girl waits for—a sugary proposal from the only guy you find sensible or the one who’s the sweetest. Jaldeep expressed his love for her the first time, leaving her completely bemused but besotted. And, as they say, there was no looking back! The workplace romance soon blossomed into a strong and sparkling relationship and here they are happy and at ease.

Romantic Glamour at the Pre-Wedding Ceremonies :

The couple exchanged rings in a splendid ceremony on February 1 at Radisson Blu Plaza, Mahipalpur. The bride chose to go Western and wore a ball gown done by Frontier Raas. She decked her look with a diamond set by Anmol Jewellers. Giving her those crafty touches, edgy eyes and red lips was professional makeup artist, Mehul Sakhrani. On the other hand, the groom donned a classy tuxedo suit by Study by Janak. The groom’s cocktail took place at Club Patio’s, South City-II, Gurgaon. He chose an Indo-western outfit by Study by Janak—a kurta paired with jodhpuri pants and a heavy jacket. The couple dance brought down the curtains of this gleeful ceremony, only to wake up to the dawn of another blissful ceremony.RSK Prime Hotel & Banquet, I.P. Extension, was reserved for the bride’s mehendi ceremony. Vibrant in an Anarkali ensemble from Tricha fashion studio, the bride was a sight for the sore eyes! She completed her look with jewellery by BG’s.Each female guest was gifted a Jaipuri peacock kada (bangle) and male guests were presented with pink pagdis at the mehendi and sangeet ceremony.

The Wow at the Wedding :
For the morning anand karaj ceremony, the bride opted for an open slit Anarkali-lehenga made out of antique zardozi embroidery, crafted by Mayanka Jindal (M by Mayanka). The groom picked up another sherwani from the Study by Janak collection. Red Carpet Party Lawns, Ghaziabad, was kept as the venue for the wedding. With the theme as enchanting as Rajput-Mughal, the complete decoration was done in Jodha-Akbar style! While the bride flaunted a pure zardozi-embroidered lehenga by CTC Mall, the groom sported an antique-work sherwani done by Study by Janak. Chanel’s national makeup artist, Somya Singhal was invited to give that chic look to the bride. The traditional look and feel of the evening ceremonies mesmerised the guests strikingly. The bride and the groom were on cloud nine, ecstatic and mirthful! Not to forget that the scrumptious bites and beverages, created by F&B Caterers left the guests palate-happy.

Narrating the Visual Story :
Wedding photography and cinematography was done by Portfolio Studios. The studio is known for giving your moments a shape and telling your story in the most unique way. The couple’s photo shoot was shot in a candid and contemporary style, taking the final form in a coffee table book. The studio also offered a wedding video package to the couple. The main feature of this package was a short wedding film. The nuptials now reside in fancy albums accompanied by an even fancier wedding flip book.

Post-Wedding Spring :
This story of a workplace romance culminating into a strong relationship has now found a new meaning and space. Talking of that one defining moment of the nuptials, the groom says “The bride’s entry with the background music din shagana da chadya made me feel super excited and content at the same time. With the progressing pace as she was moving towards me, it filled me with immense happiness and a sense of achievement. That moment, I felt that this is it!”The bride says “Every single moment for me was super enchanting. From engagement dance to the pheras, everything was so beautiful.” “The most amazing moment out of all was the anand karaj ceremony. When the last phera was completed and we sat down for the ceremony conclusion, Jaldeep whispered in my ear, “Congratulations Mrs. Rekhi, we are now husband and wife”. The happiness in that moment cannot be expressed and will always remain vivid in my heart” she adds.
