A gala Tamil wedding of a Daddys girl Aishwarya with Somesh

By Executive Editor

A wedding is an ensemble of a variety of events, rituals and immense amounts of joyous proud moments for all generations ...

Roopki rani…Queen of hearts…name her anyway, she is an epitome of beauty and brains, and she is the bride Aishwarya! A wedding is an ensemble of a variety of events, rituals and immense amounts of joyous proud moments for all generations! The wedding of Aishwarya and Somesh wasorganised, planned and executed by Lalwani events and was a wedding for the guests as well as the hosts to remember for a lifetime!

The Mehendi, Sangeet and Bangle ceremony
‘Mela dilon ka aata hai…’ that’s the song for the theme of the event and a Bollywood night called Aishesh [a combo of both the bride’s and groom’s names]that surprised the guests, for it was extremely well-organised and the bride danced solo on the dais for the event! The gorgeous looking bride in navy blue olive green lehenga with minimal jewellery looked like a living doll! With the typical village/mela set-up it was an enjoyable moment for Mr. Sukumaran, the father of the bride who coordinated each and every detail for 2 months with the Lalwani team to make every occasion no less than a carnival! The DJ and MC were personally coordinated by Ms. Neelam Lalwani to ensure smooth execution.

Welcoming the Bride and the Groom

The bride was brought in an open doliall along a long way with merry making family and friends who danced to Punjabi beats and reached the venue. The groom entered the venue in a chariot with two horses and was welcomed by the bride and her family. This ceremony in Tamil is called as Janavasam, in Kannada it is Varapooje, and is technically the beginning of a wedding. This event had a Peacock and Krishna theme and everything was hued in peacock shades or had peacock feathers as a part of the décor. The marigolds for the décor were specially bought from Kolkatta and the other flowers from Coimbatore.

The Muhurtam- Day of the wedding
This day is the most awaited day of everyone’s lives and this special event had a Temple theme. Dressed in a magenta and red combo kancheevaram saree… this outrageously beautiful bride magnetically pulled the crowd to her. After the Kashiyatre, the groom and the bride readied themselves to “sambandha maale” and then for the “varamala” at an 8 ft high hydraulically lifted dais. This was an exclusive experience for the onlookers as well as the couple and their parents. The mantap was embellished with real bells and green mango leaves denoting the Ugadi festival which was the wedding day.

Reception

Everything about the reception was western, from the décor to the costumes of the bride, her hair-do and jewellery. The 60 member crew gave their heart and soul to this mega event!
“In all the wedding was a like a Bollywood movie where for each event the entire set was changed to completely new ones and that too without causing any inconvenience…that’s the Lalwani team for you”, says Ms. Neelam Lalwani!
